Sweet son leaving,
resuming his grown-up adult life.
We miss his joy-giving presence.
Now we adjust once more
to long-distance relationship.
I wonder, did shepherds return
to that scene of joy
amidst the squalor? Could they bear
to leave Him behind? Or
did they carry him in their hearts?
